Service Provided: Li River Cruise, Daxu Old Town, Chinese lunch We leave hotel for the Li River cruise 8am. Lunch is buffet both in Chinese and western style. The cruise takes us through the most stunning river scenery imaginable. The spectacular limestone peaks seem to form statues of that guard the beautiful river that is lined with lush bamboo groves. The villagers go about their business and the water buffalo graze along the bank as the boat s pass by. We will disembark Yangshuo at around 1pm and we will be free to explore the old town before being transferred back to the Guilin. We have the option of visiting 1000 yearmold Daxu Old Town on the way back to Guilin.

Our itinerary includes the lovely old Yuyuan Garden, the Shanghai Museum, which rivals the Shaanxi Museum in Xi'an and is well worth the visit, the Jade Buddha Temple, and the famous Oriental TV Tower (also known as the Pearl Tower, for its distinctive shape). The second-highest platform provides wonderful views over Shanghai and the Huang Pu River, and those with a good head for heights can choose to buy a ticket to continue on to the very top. Zhujiajiao on the shore of vast Dingshan Lake this ancient township was a commercial centre during the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) Dynasties and became one of the largest commercial centers on the lower reaches of the Yangtze during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911)and has many buildings in the style of both eras. Many of the old gray-tiled houses are built on the water, and each of the 36 stone bridges has its own style. it is a favorite location for movies, there are historical spots everywhere, as well as lovely gardens such as Daguanyuan and Qushuiyuan Gardens.

Here we vVisit Qiao Family's Compound which was built in 1755. This well-preserved and exquisite structure used to be the residence of Qiao Zhiyong, who was a famous businessman during the Qing Dynasty. The compound's inner courtyards and passageways have been designed to form the shape of the Chinese character for the words 'double happiness' (shuang xi). There is a wide range of architectural styles in this compound, particularly the contrasting roof styles. The Rishengchang Draft Bank was established in 1823 and was the biggest draft bank at that time and famous for "Hui Tong Tian Xia" (Business Connecting The Whole World). Pingyao Ancient Town is considered to be the best-preserved of the ancient towns in China, and has been on UNESCO's world cultural heritage list since 1997. Famous for its virtually untouched folk architecture, this was once the financial headquarters for all of China. Inside the intact Ming Dynasty city wall this traditional town, whose buildings date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, has been carefully preserved as it was centuries ago.

This wonderful bazaar is a great place to explore ancient Chinese culture and hunt through the gorgeous array of goods on offer, including antiques, furniture, ancient coins, Chinese paintings, jade ware, lacquer ware and traditional folk clothing. The Wang Family Compound is an outstanding example of a very large and traditional Chinese residential compound. The Wang business enterprise commenced during the Ming Dynasty and was a flourishing conglomerate by the middle of the Qing Dynasty, encompassing farming and commerce as well as politics. The massive mansion was built as a monument to the glory of this powerful family over a period of two and a half a centuries. We transfer for our flight to Xian and wafter arrival and checking in at our hotel we will visit tThe Ancient City Wall. The city wall, made of rammed earth covered by stamped bricks, was first built during the Zhou Dynasty (1100-221BC), and remains intact. Stretching for around 6km, it is 12m high with an average width of 5m, and surrounded by a city moat, with a drawbridge outside the city gate.

Despite a lot of modern development Xi'an remains a charming city, and you'll enjoy visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Then out to see the incredible Terra cotta Warriors and the Huaqing Hot Spring, which is on the way to Terracotta Warriors. In the evening we will to go to the colorful Tang Dynasty Show at Tang Yuegong, which features songs and dances from the Tang period.

You will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight and fly to Beijing. After arriving in Bejing we will transfer to our hotel to check in. We then visit the Hutongs. The Hutongs are a maze of alleyways peculiar to Beijing. Surrounding the Forbidden City, many of these small winding alleyways were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming(1368-1628) and Qing(1644-1908) dynasties. The emperors planned the city and arranged the residential areas according to the etiquette systems of the Zhou Dynasty as part of their efforts to maintain supreme power. Buildings are typically quadrangles - a compound with houses around a square courtyard. An escorted tour to the Hutong includes a visit with a local family, with a chance to chat about how life goes on within these traditional architectures. We will also visit one primary school and a flea market in the Hutong. This is great chance to learn more about Beijing, its people and distinctive culture.

After breakfast, our guide will meet us in the lobby and head out for the worldĄŻs largest public square,Tian'anmen Square which is closely linked to Mao Zedong. Just accross the road is the Forbidden City, from which the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties governed for over 500 years.The Temple of Heaven is the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests. We will take the advice of our local guide about which of these attractions to visit first so that visit at the best times. Dinner is on our own, but our guide will direct us to some good restaurants. Enjoy a spectacular Chinese kung fu performance this evening.

You can walk and climb at your own pace, or enjoy spectacular views from the cable car. Before returning to the city you'll enjoy the attractive tree-lined Sacred Road, bordered by stone statues, along which the Emperors once trod to conduct their sacred ceremonies. Dinner tonight is at Qianmen Quanjude, where we'll eat the some of the best 'Peking Duck' in Beijing
