Forward Lamar Odom enjoyed his best game of the season as the Los Angeles Lakers sent the Cleveland Cavaliers down to their first home loss of the season on Sunday afternoon.
Odom finished with 28 points and 17 rebounds — both season highs — in the 100-91 victory.
Kobe Bryant finished with 19 points, while Paul Gasol added 18 to go along with 12 rebounds for Los Angeles (41-9).
Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 22 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland (39-10), while Mo Williams contributed 19 points.
LeBron James finished with 16 points and 12 assists. James was coming off a 52-point outing against New York and dipped below 20 points for the first time in 18 games.
The Cavaliers had gone 23-0 at home to start the season. It was the fifth-best home streak to start a season in NBA history.
The result capped a 6-0 road trip for the Lakers. The trip included Bryant's 61-point explosion against the New York Knicks, a victory in Toronto during which Bryant poured in 36, and a heated win over the Celtics, snapping Boston's winning streak at 12 games.
Odom scored 15 in the third quarter, when the Lakers outscored the Cavaliers 31-16 to turn a 10-point deficit into a 82-77 lead entering the fourth.
He had 13 of his team's last 16 points to close the quarter, capping his one-man scorefest with a two-handed dunk off a miss in the final second.
Cleveland closed to within 93-89 in the waning minutes but Los Angeles pulled away again, with Gasol's dunk with just over one minute making it an 11-point lead for the exclamation point.
