August 1st is the memorial day for the foundation of People's Liberation Army of the PRC.
At the beginning of the democratic revolution, led by Sun Yat-sen, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chinese Kuomintang were allied. In April 1927, Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975) of Kuomintang launched an anti-revolutionary coup d'etat, and wantonly slaughtered communists. Thus, the cooperation of Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Kuomintang broke up.
