| Three peaks in a row at Sanqing Mountoin |
Sanqing Mountain is situated on the boundary of Dexing City and Yushan County in the north of Jiangxi Province. Covering an area of 229 square kilometers, it is famed for the three main peaks--Yujing, Yuxu and Yuhua--which look like the Sanging
(three pure)Taoist deities sitting side by side on the summit. Yujing, at an elevation of 1,816 meters above sea level is the highest peak.
The mountain, in the junction zone of the Yangtze and Cathaysian plates, underwent over a billion years of geological evolution, in the process forming granite peak forest topography, unequalled anywhere in the world.
Its beauty lies in its simplicity and naturalness. its specialness in its combination of form and spirit. Painstakingly sculpted by Nature, that superb master artist, Sanqing boasts such unique sights as the Goddess of Spring Peak and Huge Boa Emerging from the Mountain Peak.
With the most completely evolved granite fractures in the world, Sanqing is veritable geological museum and is said by experts to have the most beautiful granites on the west coast of the Pacific. |
