Situated in Taining County, Fujian Province, in the central part of Wuyi Mountain, the Dajin Lake covers an area of 46 1.8 square kilometers, 166.9 0f which are danxia topography. There are four danxia
scenic spots here. Going from northeast to southwest they are: Shangqing Stream, Jinhu Lake, Dragon King Cave and Eight Immortals Cliff. The Jinhu Lake and the Shangqing Stream are China's largest danxia landforms on water.
Characterized by deep incised gorges and many incised meanders, the Dajin Lake danxia area has a wealth of different shapes. Fissured in all directions, the topography of the Dajin Lake has further undergone weathering and erosion by wind and water, giving rise to the red cliffs, square mountains, pointed peaks, stone pillars and walls, incised meanders and gorges that constitute the unique danxia landscape. Threaded through by the meandering waters of the lake, the place is a rare phenomenon of "danxia on water." |
