Mount Gongga(2)
The word“Gong”in Tibetan means permanent snow cover,and “ga” means white,
SO Gongga means white snow cover.Mount Gongga is located in the Miya Raogang area,a traditional Tibetan Buddhist administrative division.Local people also call it Miya Gongga.
It was nearly dusk when we reached N0.3 camp on Mount Gongga so we went to the viewing platform at dawn the next day.It was a solitary wooden pavilion,conspicuous against the white snow.Far off in the distance,the morning sun rose in the east,directing an unforgettable “blockbuster” over the main peak and over the tens of other peaks connected with it.
